Change Notice: BX-33

Dear Valued Customer,

In an effort to continuously improve the quality and performance of our UN packaging, we occasionally must make changes to the specifications and usage instructions. This notice is to inform you that the following changes have been made to BX-33 (PK-N6QTC/PK-N6QTCA).

  1. The clear tape required for closure of this packaging has changed from 3M #305 48mm wide clear tape to 3M #375 48mm wide clear tape. This change to a stronger tape caused the box to perform better in drop tests, resulting in a more secure packaging.
  2. The amount of clips that attach to each can is changing from 4 to 6.

Compliance Dates are Right Around the Corner

Are you truly ready? There is only a month left until the WHMIS 2015 deadline for Manufacturer’s and Importers to comply with the new requirements. Distributors have just a bit longer with a compliance date of August 31, 2018.

The Hazardous Products Regulations (HPR) were published in the Canada Gazette on February 11, 2015. This amendment aligned the HPR with the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS). The GHS system, which is being implemented around the world effects the classification, labeling, safety data sheets and worker education and training.

The HPR set out specific classification criteria. If a product meets the definition of a hazardous product, then the workplace is covered by the WHMIS regulations and a WHMIS program must be in place.

Change Notice: BX-19SP

In an effort to continuously improve the quality and performance of our UN packaging, we occasionally must make changes to the specifications and usage instructions. This notice is to inform you that the following changes have been made to BX-19SP.

  1. The maximum gross weight allowance for this design has been increased from 10.1 kg to 15 kg. The specification marking that is printed on the boxes has been updated to reflect this change.

In an effort to continuously improve the quality and performance of our UN packaging, we occasionally must make changes to the specifications and usage instructions. This notice is to inform you that the following changes have been made to BX-32 (Including PK-N4QT, PK-N4QTC, and PK-N4PTC.)

  1. The clear tape required for closure of this packaging has changed from 3M #305 48mm wide clear tape to 3M #375 48mm wide clear tape. This change to a stronger tape caused the box to perform better in drop tests, resulting in a more secure packaging.
  2. The amount of clips that attach to each can is changing from 4 to 6.

This notice is to also inform you that the following changes have been made to BX-79 (Including PK-TALLC and PK-NTALL)

  1. The maximum gross weight allowance for this design has been increased from 7.7 kg to 8.6 kg. The specification marking that is printed on the boxes has been updated to reflect this change.
  2. The clear tape required for closure of this packaging has changed from 3M #305 48mm wide clear tape to 3M #375 48mm wide clear tape. This change to a stronger tape caused the box to perform better in drop tests, resulting in a more secure packaging.

The 2016 ERG is Valid Until 2020

The Emergency Response Guidebook published by the US Department of Transportation, developed jointly with Transport Canada and the Secretariat of Transport and Communications is used by firefighters, police, and other emergency response personnel who may be the first to arrive on the scene of a transportation incident regarding dangerous goods/hazardous materials.

The primary purpose of the Guide is to provide immediate information regarding the chemical, therefore allowing them to take appropriate action to protect themselves and the general public.

  1. The maximum gross weight allowance for this design has been increased from 2.8 kg to 3.5 kg. The specification marking that is printed on the boxes has been updated to reflect this change.

BX-87DU

  1. The maximum gross weight allowance for this design has been increased from 24.3 kg to 25.2 kg. The specification marking that is printed on the boxes has
    been updated to reflect this change.
  2. The clear tape required for closure of this packaging has changed from 3M #305 48mm wide clear tape to 3M #375 48mm wide clear tape. This change to a stronger tape caused the box to perform better in drop tests, resulting in a more secure packaging.

BX-10SP

  1. The maximum gross weight allowance for this design has been increased from 16.0 kg to 18.5 kg. The specification marking that is printed on the boxes has been updated to reflect this change.
